Alright, I'm having a bit of trouble here. I want to find a picture similar to what I want my character to look like, but it's proving to be a bit difficult. I've checked Larry Elmore's site, I've checked Elfwood, I've looked everywhere, but I can NOT seem to find a picture of a black female human swashbuckler! *tsk tsk* And ya'd think there'd just be millions of them, out there, waiting for me. Oh well.

Anyways, does anyone know of any other good fantasy art sites that I should browse? It's not an emergency or anything, but I like to make digital art of my characters to get a better feel for how I want them to look. I'm also looking for a good example of a 'pirate outfit' outfit to model the colors on my mini after. :)

Well if you post me a description I can draw you something...it'd prolly be a little animeish but it could at least get you started

I don't want you to waste your time on it if I end up finding a picture somewhere, so I'll let you if I am absolutely unable to find anything and I can make you a layout or icons or something in return if you'd like :)

The dragonlance character Marqueta Kar-thon.... is what you describe. A black female pirate / swashbuckler type person; and therre are pictures of her. Search the web perhaps. the spelling may also be Marquesta Kar'thon.

Just a search on Maquesta should bring up plenty

I should have qualified that to a Google Images search on Maquesta...whoops.

All I got.

Oh well, it was worth a try. :D Thanks for the suggestion... I was searching google the regular way beforehand and I didn't even think to search google images. I wasn't born smart like the other kids.

You know, I'm actually starting to re-think my character.

Maybe what I REALLY want is a hulking GERMAN Swashbuckler.

Who doesn't want that, truly? *sizzle* Strong, dumb, and pretty! HO YEAH.

Wonderful suggestion! I can't believe my boyfriend, who knows the stories of the Dragonlance heroes inside and out, completely neglected to mention to me that by some AMAZING COINCIDENCE there was a black female swashbuckler hero in Krynn. Psht. <3 I'll be giving him a talking-to. lol. Thanks!

Female swashbuckler + Photoshop = black female swashbuckler

Point taken. Now, to find a female swashbuckler with a cool hat. :) Maybe I'll just take a stab at *gulp* drawing one...

If you want a cool hat for a swashbuckler, it's gonna be a thin line between Pirate and Musketeer, a line Captain Hook has been known to fall off of on numerous accounts.

Here's my favorite avatar site:

There are alot of smallish photos, many of the fantasy-related. You can even direct link right from the site if you want to use the picture on line.

I suspect alot of the fantasy avatars are related to Baldur's Gate, but I'm not certain. Even so, you might find something you like. Good luck!
