You can save $63.81 more by not buying the books at all.

Not really knocking the new edition, but I really am tired of spending money to rebuild my gaming library to be current with the edition everyone else is playing. I'm sticking to the 3.5 OGL and Pathfinder.

Thats fine and all, however, the point of this post was to help those that ARE buying it save a few bucks, NOT to convince those that ARENT buying that they should.

I greatly enjoy 3.5 and wont be abandoning it either. In an ideal world they would have waited another 2 years to give us 4.0, and hopefully it will be 10 before we get 5.0 or 4.5 or whatever. In any case, bad form bro, bad form.

First, let me point out that I made this comment in your dnd3e post, NOT the dnd4e post in which you duplicated this (I am on both - largely because I was initially intrigued by the possibilities of 4th Edition updates).

Second, I am not out to badmouth any system, person, or whatever. I WILL NOT get involved in a flame war on LJ. Been there, done that. Don't want another T-shirt for it.

I appreciate what you are doing for the potential 4th Ed buyers. I am not making critique on the comparisons you've made. They were well-researched. I am merely pointing out that if we're talking about saving money in a time when gas is taking an increasing chunk out of our monthly budgets, companies are shipping our jobs overseas, and we're worried about whether we'll still be in our own homes come Christmas time, it isn't that necessary to spend that much money on a game that might or might not be an improvement over what we are playing now.

Sorry you took what I said as "bad form," but I will not take that hit.

:-)
It's only a fight if two people are doing it. I don't get into Internet fights because I usually lose them. I just let the other guy brow-beat me to death online these days. It's a lot easier, and I find I save time and effort on typing that way.
