Rat's dragon
You may, or may not have noticed, that we have been gifted with a permanent account, by someone who will remain nameless...

As such, I'm thinking of redesigning the community with a new S2 style. I haven't worked out what to do yet but if anyone has any design ideas/fancy graphics/etc etc that they think would be good I'm open to suggestions. It will probably be a while before I get anything done - I'm extremely busy at the moment - but I'll try to set aside some time by Easter to work on something.

Me neither.. but it occured to me that I set the style up years and years ago (well before S2 came out).. so I thought it needed a bit of a makeover!

I'd actually rather you not, only because changing to S2 changes the style-layout on the comments too. And since this community is all about reading comments--

Unless you have a really nice layout. And, in my opinion, the current red thing with all the extra stuff on the sides that I'm posting in is not ;p

The look of comment pages that you see can be determined by you. Select "View comment pages in your journal style?" in your own user info and you won't have to see the community's comment pages unless you choose to.

If enough people don't like the idea of customised comment pages then I can select to use the default LJ comment pages even using S2. I'd rather not do that because each user can decide how they view comment pages as mentioned in the first paragraph.

As for this current style - it's only in use because it's easiest to edit tags with.

Having a style that everyone likes is never going to be possible - so I'm sorry if you end up not liking whatever is chosen. I personally prefer styles where the comment pages match as it makes it feel more like a real website. But, as I said, you can change the option as to what comment pages you see in your user info so it shouldn't have to bother you.

Ah, I didn't realize that was changeable. I wonder if its a new feature from when the style was first introduced. Or I just never looked at the settings hard enough :p

In any case, just thought I'd give my opinion. It's still a good community though :)

I happened about when S2 came out. They do often sneak these settings in so it's not surprising you didn't notice. Because I keep abreast of the FAQs I knew about it as soon as it was mentioned in those.
