Any idea how to handle pixie arrows (x-posted to dungeon masters)

I have a player in my campaign who just became a 4th level pixie by the savage species rules. She can now craft pixie sleep arrows and pixie memory loss arrows. Checking savage species and the monster manual there isn't any info on how to adjucate this.

Does anyone have ideas or an offical ruling I may have missed?

I have a player whose name is Sparkles. She is a pixie. She is also a sorcerer. Because of this, I have limited her to suriken. (no bow - so no arrows) Because she hangs around with adventurers, instead of Fey-kind she will not pick up the ability to make the special arrows. Furthermore since the player is TOTALLY Lawful-Good, her character is also LG. Which means most Fey-Kind will not have much to do with her, she's just no fun!!!

I have gone through the 3.0 MM and found all of the spells that Pixies get and I have made a progression schedule that will allow her to get these when she progresses in Sorcerer levels. It works pretty smoothly.

About your problem. The character that is in your campaign must have craft(weapon), must be able to cast a sleep spell; and would have to have the feat to create magic weapons. If the character had the means to create a magic weapon then, by all means the pixie arrows would be no challenge to her.

Look in the Equipment section of Savage Species, under Pixie Arrows. It gives you some info.

Yup, right there. Don't know how I missed it....

Next time, maybe I'll wait till I get home to the book before I ask.

I think I would just use the same rules for magical weapon creation and just wing the XP costs (pun only slightly intended.)

Turns out that the info I was looking for was on page 51 of Savage Species.

Memory loss - Caster Level: 11th; Prerequisites: Cast Magic arms and armor, modify memory; Market Price:607 gp.

Sleep - Caster Level: 1st Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, sleep; Market Price:107 gp.
