Quick Intro

I just joined this community, and wanted to post a quick introduction:

I'm Karl, and I've been playing D&D off and on for well over 20 years now (gak!). I tend to enjoy DMing more than playing overall, for whatever reason.

Right now I'm planning a one-shot where the PCs are venerable former members of a high-level adventuring party forced out of retirement for one last adventure. I mention this since I may be mining this community for ideas as I prepare the adventure.

Although this has likely been covered somewhere before, I can't find any mention of it. Therefore, I've turned to my friendly (sometimes) neihborhood d&d community to ask:

Does an Artificer suffer from spell failure?

The Eberron Campaign Setting book says nothing about it, although it does say: "Infusions are neither arcane nor divine; they are drawn from the artifcer infusion list (see Chapter 5: Magic.) They function just like spells and follow all the rules for spells."

So...does that include the spell-failure, or does it not? I would assume that it does, but they're also proficient with all armor and shields, and it doesn't have the whole "Armor of any type interferes with..." thing that would denote spell-failure.

I would assume yes, but if I were sure about that I wouldn't be asking.

I had a dream last night that I was DMing a game for 15 people. That's right. I dreamt about a bad D&D session.

My normal group was there, and then like 10 other people. Everyone had brought a friend and they had all brought friends, and some people had just shown up because they wanted to play. And for some reason I was still trying to run the same adventure that I have planned for our next session. So I spent a long time trying to talk over everyone and tell the normal group that they had arrived in town. And then I shouted out "Alright! The rest of you are in town" at which point one person speaks up and goes "umm... how do I memorize spells?"

I woke up in a cold sweat :p
