Has anyone used the Wemic as a race in 3rd edition before? I found this site with some information, but I was curious if there was anyone here who has tried it out.

If you didn't know and you were curious, the Wemic is featured in the Monsters of Faerun, though it was in the standard Monster Manual in 2nd edition.

I played one once in 2e, but never in 3, sorry.

Same here. I designed a "primitive" version of mages for them, and used the shaman (a 2nd level variant on clerics).

The Wemic campaign was a struggle against the encroaching civilized humanoids on one hand, and a bubbling-up of undead on the other. Worked nicely.

Hey, thanks for the link! Although I wrote those rules, I don't know anyone (including myself) who has used them ... except for these..

These rules, designed for play with first level characters (no level adjustment), have been used by a handful of people in the Wold online game. I've run two wemics using these rules.
