I'm building a website for my RP group and I need a little d20 icon to go on the calender. Any one have any suggestions where I can find that or do you have any already?

This http://images.google.com/images?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&q=d20 should help. But watch, the d20 icon means you have to agree to certain conditions and other d20 logos are likely to be trademarked.

I especially like the "d20" picture on row 4 / col 1. Silly Google.

The d20 icon doesn't mean anything special. If you don't use the OGL, it's just another trademark--same as the D&D or WotC logos.

You're probably thinking of the d20STL--which is a written agreement whereby folk can use the d20 trademarks, despite the additional prohibitions against using trademarks in the OGL.

As to the original question: if you download the original file from www.wizards.com/d20, you should be able to use any graphics program, even MS Paint or the MS Office Photo Editor, to get it down to a 16x16 thumbnail size. to use in a calendar.

(And while I've got yout attention, I'll stump for the Prometheus Compatability Logo -- www.thefga.com has more details.)

Hmm. I think to use the d20 logo you have to agree to the d20 system license. (rich text link.

It says scary things like;
3. Agreement not to Contest
By making use of and/or distributing material using the d20 System trademark under the terms of this License, You agree not to contest the ownership of the Licensed Articles.

I'm talking a d20 icon. Not the d20 logo. Just a d20 to stick infront of sessions on my calender... Not the logo. :p

Yeah. I know. It was just a throw away comment that has turned into a small debate (that never happens on LJ!) :) I think there are generic d20 icons/piccies on that Google image link, though.

No, you don't. There's no secret law that keeps you from using the d20 logo any more than any other logo.

The d20 system license ONLY applies if you use the OGL. Without it, the d20 mark is just a trademark that you can use or not use to your heart's content.

I hate to argue from authority--but trust me. I know what I'm talking about when it comes to Open Gaming, the OGL, and the d20STL.

Oh sure. I've only ever just taken a quick peek at the legal foo - certainly haven't gone through it as carefully as you would have for Castle Steelstone.

Still, I doubt you could slap the d20 logo on some porn and not expect a call from Wizards' lawyers nor would you be able to sell an RPG which used a d20 system of your own creation and which happened to carry that d20 logo.

The icon used by the d20games group should work, since it appears to be the d20 games logo, but isn't quite.
