Hullo, name's James. Fairly new to D&D. Started on 3rd ed rules a couple of months ago. Currently I'm in two games, both pretty wonky campaigns.
I've got the campaign book and the back knowledge, so I'm about to start a 3rd Ed. DragonLance campaign, just because I've been reading the books for about 7 years now, and I dearly love the wonderous world of Krynn. (In fact, the DM in one of the games is quite tired of hearing me talk about it, and my character in the other campaign is a Kender.)
So yea, stumbled upon this community while searching for dragonlance communities, thought I'd join for useless nerd talk, and possibly input/ideas/comments on my game once it gets started.
Hullo.

I am also running a dragonlance campiegn. I am not a fan of this new fangeled Age of Mortals crap, so Im running it in the height of the Age of Might; right before the 1st cataclysm, and all my players are solomnics, istarians, and a gnome (I actually found a way so the others would accept him. Its a great game, but in my 10 years of playing, and run verious games over it; it is also my 1st successful game.

A good game is hard to run. Just know the system well enough so as its not a hinderence. If you don't know all the rules, then at least know where to find all the rules. Nothing hinders a game more then rules debates and flippli9ng though the DMg for an hour.

And kender rock!!!! except nobody can seem to play them right....

THEIR NOT THEIVES

Theft is just one of their many amazing talents

................................

I have never seen a kender actually steal something. Its immoral. Why would thjey possibly do something like that?

Of course nobody sees them, that's what makes them so good.

Alright let me rephrase that. I can never concieve of a kender steeling anything. ever. they don't steel theere is no theft because as we all know steeling is immoral.

Steel is very moral on Krynn, it's downright capitalist!

They're just holding onto it for you, because you must have dropped it by accident.

I'm starting mine out at the height of the age of despair, pre war of the lance. ooh yea. Figured I might as well go classic. And there's just so much that can be done there.
I really don't like the Age of Mortals..I'm hoping that post-war of souls, everything will be well...fixed. Minus the whole dead Takhisis and Paladin becoming a mortal elf, Valthonis.
I'm sure I'll be...decent at the game. Whever it decides to start up. Ugh. Waiting on PCs sucks.
And yes, Kender rock. And of course they would never *steal* anything. Handle something that was carelessly dropped or fell into their bag, yes.
It's not that noone plays them correctly, it's that in actuality, without a cooperative DM, they are just fairly difficult to do.

I tried playing them under DMs, and many times this is true. A friend of mine tried to playu one though and it seemed like an episode from loony toons. It made me want to wrentch, for kender are neither loony nor children, but people play them as such and it annoys me.
