Just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Avery W. Krouse, alias Averin Lanstone, Loremaster. I just recently passed my one year anniversary of playing 3E.

Just wanted to ask if anyone has ever had a DM who abused his knowledge of the rules to give his own characters advantages?

My former DM has a L310 ubercharacter that he has pop-up whenever he can't handle a situation or think of anything better to do.

our dm has recurring pair of villains: a medusa rogue/order of the bow initiate and a grimlock barbarian/forsaker. we either risk getting petrified with our eyes open or close them to get smashed to itty bitty peices. i hate them passionately, so much so that i dream about defeating them. thay make my game life so hard and yet so addictively interesting!

Greetings,
Quartermane here, aspiring Swasbuckler (Swashbuckling Adventures, 7th Seas D20) extrodinire. Did I read that right, a level 310 character. Should that character be on high somewhere having people worship him. Wow. The other post spoke off 2 high levels that are a pain but they sound beatable. This one, I dont know what would, the blood of a golden hind maybe?

Actually, none of the Gods in the F&P or Deities go beyond like CL120, hehe

Sounds like a good bit of min/maxing to me. -salute-

Mm. I wouldn't stick around a DM who abused his power like that. Level 310?!

It's a bad sign of roleplaying when a DM brings in a NPC and essentially roleplays with the rest of the group. The DM's PC always gets stronger and more levels subtracting from the players' feel of importance in their own adventures. It's just bad DMing.
