Due to some, eh, not favourable circumstances that I'd rather not get into, I need to rebuild a character of mine for a game I play in. The GM needs it as an NPC over the next two weeks because I won't be able to play.

The problem I'm running into atm is that I need the statistics for the shade template from the FRCS. The GM and the other player I know that have the book are not home right now and I'm not going to get a chance to get on a computer with internets for the next few days once I leave work tonight (in about five hours), so I need that info before I leave.

I had burnt a PDF copy onto a CD to take to work, but I think I actually burnt the CD in 'test' mode, so I don't have that here.

I also don't have the details I need for the Tel'flammar Shadowlord from Unapproachable East, so if anyone has the prereqs and skills, that'd be great, since I have the other class featu-- no, wait, I don't, because the GM has my current character sheet. Dammit.

Okay.

If anyone can type-up/e-mail/MSN me the information for the shade template and the Tel'flammar Shadowlord (I know the special abilities and spell list, but I need the BAB/Saves/HD/Skills/Prereqs), I'd be ever so grateful.

Otherwise I get to waste time making an NPC-that-could-possibly-be-a-PC-if-the-rest-of-the-party-doesn't-screw-up in addition to my possible-replacement-PC-in-case-they-do when I arrive to the next session in two weeks instead of making it now and possibly just getting to play the character when I arrive. :p

I have the Shade template for you, but not the other.

HD - no change
Speed - +20 in darkness
Attk/Dmg - +2 competence bonus in darkness
SQ -
  • Control Light (SP) - decrease light levels within 100' radius by a factor of 10%/lvl. Reduce range of vision for those within the affected area accordingly.
  • Fast Healing (EX)- Heal 2hp/round unless in bright light
  • Invisibility (SP) - Once per turn as sorcerer of equal character level
  • Shadesight (SP) - 60' darkvision. See normally through any darkness effects, but not through fog, invisibility, obscurement, etc.
  • Shadow Image (SP) - 3/day as a sorcerer of equal character level, create shadow images similar to the mirror image spell, # images = 1d4, +1/3 levels
  • Shadow Stride (SP) - A shade of at least 8th lvl can vanish from its current location and reappear in any shadowy area within 300' as a move-equivalent action, so the shade can use another ability, cast a spell, or attack in the same round.
  • Shadow Travel (SP) - 1/day, a shade of at least 12th lvl can use either teleport without error to reach a shadowy locale on the same world or use plane shift to access the Shadow Plane. Must be in the shadows to use this ability
  • Spell Resistance (EX) - SR of 11+character level

Saves - +4 luck bonus to all saves whilst in darkness
Abilities - +2 to CON and CHA in darkness
Skills - +4 bonus to Listen & Spot and +8 to Hide and Move Silently whilst in darkness
Alignment - any non-good
CR - +2

Shadowy Stride -- is there a limit to how often it can be used?

I dunno. Maybe they weakened it for 3.5 (hopefully so, as it's currently extremely unbalanced, but unlikely since it's still Forgotten Realms).

+20 speed in darkness.
+2 competence bonus to their attacks and damage in darkness.
+4 deflection bonus to AC in darkness.
+4 luck bonus to saving throws in darkness.
+2 Constitution and Charisma in darkness.
+4 Spot and Listen in darkness.
+8 Hide and Move Silently in darkness.
Special Qualities: Control Light (Sp), Fast Healing (Ex), Invisibility (Sp) once per turn, Shadesight (Sp) (60' darkvision with less restrictions), Shadow Image (Sp) 3/day, (8th level) Shadow Stride (Sp) 1/2 rounds, (12th level) Shadow Travel, Spell Resistance (Ex) 11 + character level.
I couldn't find a LA for the template (shakes fist at 3.0), but it has a +2 CR if that helps you figure out its ECL.

My entire group seems to think it's a +4 LA, although none of us are sure where we heard/read that.

A little googling figured it out.

It's in Races of Faerun as a +4, and the errata for the FRCS (which is newer) has it as a +5.

I think the GM is content with it being a +4, because I had 4 ECL worth of templates previously (Shadow-walker + Half Air-Elemental [acquired later for storyline reasons]).

Skills: Hide 10 ranks, Move Silently 10 ranks.
Feats: Blind-fight, Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack.
If the character is not a shadow-walker, he must possess the ability to Shadow Jump or cast Dimension Door.
Sneak Attack +2d6.
Must qualify to select regional feats from Thesk.

HD: d6
Skills (4+INT): Appraise, Balance, Bluff, Climb, Craft, Disguise, Escape Artist, Hide, Jump, Listen, Move Silently, Open Lock, Profession, Search, Sleight of Hand, Spot, Tumble, Use Magic Device, Use Rope.

I wonder if the GM will let me substitute Shadowy Stride for Dimension Door/Shadow Jump... I know I would. :/

I'll assume he will and if not, well, I'll burn that bridge when I rewrite.

It'd make sense since it's essentially a vastly improved version of Shadow Jump.
