DrG Don't know me
I'm playing a character that is interested in eventually creating Golems - specifically, golems akin to Frankenstein's Monster (I'm thinking Flesh Golems and Cadaver Golems). What feats/spells/levels/etc are necessary to set this ball rolling?

Craft Construct. That's the only relevent one, though I think Craft Wonderous Items is a prereq.

Actually, I thought the cadavar golem that they had in Heroes of Horror was right down your alley. If you are trying to keep within the SRD, then I would agree that Craft Construct would be good as well as a sterile and fertile dead environment...

Hahah I shoulda checked d20srd.org first:

" The pieces of a flesh golem must come from normal human corpses that have not decayed significantly. Assembly requires a minimum of six different bodies—one for each limb, the torso (including head), and the brain. In some cases, more bodies may be necessary. Special unguents and bindings worth 500 gp are also required. Note that creating a flesh golem requires casting a spell with the evil descriptor.

Assembling the body requires a DC 13 Craft (leatherworking) check or a DC 13 Heal check.

CL 8th; Craft Construct, animate dead, bull’s strength, geas/quest, limited wish, caster must be at least 8th level; Price 20,000 gp; Cost 10,500 gp + 780 XP. "

Look at the Artificer for crafting boosts, or the Corpse Crafting feats in Libris Mortis.

Hell, even the True Necromancer, if Frankie's the goal.

Which Artificer? There are half a dozen (or more) out there. I wish people would think of a different name for the classes. =)

The "official" one, from Eberron. I think it gets mad bonuses to making golems, and a pool of free XP with which to do it.

However, True Necromancer with corpse-crqft feats sounds more accurate, possibly with some True Ritual at the end to make it Alive, rather than Undead.
