I have this strange, random idea to create a card game using the material of the 3.5 SRD (SRD? What's that? Go here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/article/srd35
Basically, it would involve taking all the material and turning it into cards. As in, a "magic missile" card, a "gelatinous cube" card, a "rod of disintegration" card, etc. The uses for such a thing would be far-reaching.
Players could use the cards as reference material for actual D&D games. The DM can keep his monster cards in front of him. The players can keep their spells in a deck, their magic items in an inventory pile, etc.
One could create a spell-duel game using the spell cards. How about an arena game, monsters vs. heroes? A dungeon crawl game with map, monster, and trap cards. There could really be a lot to create.
Even better, the card system would be released under the OGL so that people could create their own games or make their own cards.
What do you think? If I got this started, would anyone volunteer to create a team?
